What Cancer Cannot Do – Part 12

12. Cancer cannot stop me from pressing on toward the goal for the prize in Christ Jesus

13 Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, 14 I press toward the goal for more info

the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

Philippians 3:13-14

God has given my faith and hope in Him and to be with Him eternally. I doesn’t matter what happens to me here, I will always push forward through all trials and tribulations toward Jesus and fellowship with Him.

Jesus is God

What Cancer Cannot Do – Part 11

11. Cancer cannot rob me of my healing faith in God

14 Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.

James 5:14-15

God created everything, He can easily heal you of anything. The greatest disease we have is sin and He has already provided a remedy for it, His Son.

God is my Healer

What Cancer Cannot Do – Part 10

10. Cancer cannot cause me to cease praising and worshiping the Lord for His loving kindness

A Psalm of David.

103 Bless the Lord, O my soul;
And all that is within me, bless His holy name!
2 Bless the Lord, O my soul,
And forget not all His benefits:
3 Who forgives all your iniquities,
Who heals all your diseases,
4 Who redeems your life from destruction,
Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies,
5 Who satisfies your mouth with good things,
So that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

Psalm 103:1-5

With all that God does for us, how can we stop praising and worshiping Him?

God is Kind

What Cancer Cannot Do – Part 9

9. Cancer cannot hinder my love for the Lord and my thankfulness to Him for His goodness and mercy as my Great Shepherd

A Psalm of David.

23 The Lord is my shepherd;
I shall not want.
2 He makes me to lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside the still waters.
3 He restores my soul;
He leads me in the paths of righteousness
For His name’s sake.

4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil;
For You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.

5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
You anoint my head with oil;
My cup runs over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
All the days of my life;
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord
Forever.

Psalm 23:1-6

After understanding the analogy of the shepherd and his flock and the history of shepherding as well as what they do, this psalm is much more powerful.

The shepherds job is to lead the flock to green pasture and clean water to feed. He also watches over them as the eat and rest. He protects them with his shepherd crook when wolves attack. When a sheep goes astray, he will go find it and bring it back.

The sheep is reliant on the shepherd for food and safety, just as we are reliant on our Lord. He will always be there and we can rest in His flock.

What Cancer Cannot Do – Part 8

8. Cancer cannot squelch my hope in the Holy Spirit who dwells in me

11 But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.

Romans 8:11

One of the reasons my hope in God is so strong is because of the mind He has given me. He gave me the tools (internal and external) to research and to reason out the Truth that is in His Word. Coming from an atheistic and evolution based childhood and schooling, I have an intimate understand of that world view.

After researching and reading articles from the Christian community (mainly from Answers in Genesis) and learn about historical science and people’s presuppositions, I gave me life, wholly and completely to God.

I have ask Jesus to fill me with His Spirit. This and all the experiences He has given me has solidified my hope that is in Him.

I cannot wait for His return.

What Cancer Cannot Do – Part 7

7. Cancer cannot destroy my faith in Jesus who bought me with a price

19 Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? 20 For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.

1 Corinthians 6:19-20

Jesus died for us, He suffered death and the separation from the Father for us. Cancer is nothing compared to that. So, glorify God in whatever state you are in. This body is bought by Him anyway.

God is Merciful

What Cancer Cannot Do – Part 6

6. Cancer cannot alter the merry heart God gave me

22 A merry heart does good, like medicine,
But a broken spirit dries the bones.

Proverbs 17:22

It is hard to be happy and joyful when faced with grave sickness, unless you have the Spirit within you. Jesus has given us His heart and His mind; now it is easy to see the positive in all things.

God is Joy

What Cancer Cannot Do – Part 5

5. Cancer cannot quench my peace, my strength, or my trust in God

3 You will keep him in perfect peace,
Whose mind is stayed on You,
Because he trusts in You.
4 Trust in the Lord forever,
For in YAH, the Lord, is everlasting strength.

Isa 26: 3-4

27 Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

John 14:27

God is my strength and my peace, I know that whatever the world throws at me, including disease and sickness, my God will give me the strength to get through it. I will have peace during and after the trial.

God is Peace

What Cancer Cannot Do – Part 4

4. Cancer cannot cause my God (my Abba, Father) to ever leave me

5 Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

Heb. 13:5

What more do I need to say?  God, Himself has said He will not leave me.

God is my Helper

Merry Christmas!

This has been a crazy year, filled with ups and downs and some scary moments.  The biggest event would be from the second half of the year when my wife was diagnosed with brain cancer, it is definitely a life changing event. It has however, shown us the love and care of all our friends and family and it has brought us all closer together.

We have been drifting away from God and this event has steered us back on course and to again rely on Him for all our needs.  Jesus is Provider and Comforter, He has given us all we need to deal with this, sometimes before we knew we needed it and sometimes right after we find out we needed it.

He has also given us a mind and the resources to combat this and to grow from it.  The biggest of these would be the change in the mindset of diet, from living to eat to eating to live.  Eating the natural, organic things that God has provided so that we can have a long health life, that we can live for Christ, that we can have an abundant life.

Even though cancer is very scary and a life threatening thing, I believe it has made us grow and when we are done, we will be better because of it.  God is awesome!

I pray you have a Merry Christmas and a joyful New Year!

God will provide
